Having been awarded the Australasian Locksmith Apprentice of the Year in 2011 and 2015, Ruswin are proud to invest in an extensive trade based apprenticeship program.
We offer a Cert III Locksmithing or Cert III Electronic Security Equipment. Both qualifications are over 4 years with a combination of on the job and off the job training. Our apprentices travel to Brisbane to participate in blocks at Skillstech Brisbane. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeships, employees achieve a Trade Qualification. When a position is advertised we assess each application based on resume content that is relevant to the position, semester reports and any additional skills that show an interest in the chosen field.
During the past 6 months Ruswin have employed 3 young men from North Queensland who recently attained Grade 12 certificates. Each have been signed up to each complete an apprenticeship. Two will undertake a Cert III Electronic Security Equipment, while a third will work through the Cert III Locksmithing. With ongoing expansion and due to demand for quality tradesmen we will look to add a fourth apprentice during 2017. The apprenticeship program is supported by an external Registered Training Organisation. Suitability assessments and progress reports are carried out throughout the training. This way we can ensure that training goals and key performance indicators are set and achieved.

My employment experience with Ruswin has been a very rewarding and enjoyable experience. I have learnt many useful skills during my apprenticeship that will benefit me now and long after completing my four year apprenticeship. My most long term career goal is to gain enough skills, experience and knowledge to one day start my own business. My short term goals are to gain a deeper understanding of our products and improve my interpersonal skills.

My employment with Ruswin has been great. I've learnt heaps and have enjoyed it so far. I have enjoyed working with experienced tradesmen who have been very helpful and have taught me many new things. My career goal is to become a tradesman and have a successful career in electronic equipment. Three words to describe myself would be inspired, motivated and determined.

Over the 6 month period with Ruswin, I have got to experience a wide range of aspects in the locksmithing world. Each day offers something new and different to learn. Ruswin offers multiple opportunities to learn within the trade and an example of this was an Eprom course I attended a couple months back. The course was a great experience and I learnt so much. Overall my experience with Ruswin has been great and I can't wait to see what the future years with the company bring me. My career goal is to become a fully qualified locksmith.
